“Who Believes in Global Warming … and Why?â€
In this presentation, Allan Ashworth, University Distinguished Professor of geology, will discuss research findings that persuade him global warming is here and that humans have contributed to the problem. Then Kevin McCaul, dean of the College of Science and Math and professor of psychology, will share research that indicates enormous group differences in whether people “believe†in the problem of global warming.
The Science Café will conclude with both presenters discussing with the audience why the group differences exist and how to close the gap in beliefs about global warming.
Allan Ashworth is one of the stars of the award winning documentary “Ice Peopleâ€and also has a glacier in Antarctica named after him.
