Snow kiting expedition to cross North Dakota
Their first attempt at this snowkiting expedition last year had to stop because of open water and lack of snow. This years expedition to snowkite across begins Monday Feb 11th. March 1st, they’ll make their premier presentation of the expedition from 9 am to noon at the historic Fargo Theater. To Cross the Moon: Snowkiters to cross North Dakota to promote wind energy awareness begins Monday February 11th North Dakota is known by many in the renewable energy industry as the "Saudi Arabia of Wind" we have among the best measured wind resources in the world. These purposeful young folks have been visiting classrooms with thousands of students, demonstrating snowkiting and teaching our North Dakota students the many ways we can harvest and use the winds energy across the area not only for clean, home grown renewable energy, but for recreation too. There will also be Q&A. is an eco-centric snowkiting expedition raising awareness about wind energy and climate change. The 2XtM crew will travel to communities across the state giving educational presentations and free snowkiting clinics. The expedition kicks off at the Canadian border near Crosby, N.D. on Feb. 11, 2008 and ends with community celebrations in Fargo and Grand Forks Feb. 29 March 3.
